LtCol Nus Rahasia played a key role in the training and arming of militias. He trained the Mahadomi militia in Manatuto district (see Vidal Sarmento) in tactics and the use of firearms in an area behind the salt factory at Manatuto town between mid-May and mid-June 1999. He also allegedly trained the Mahidi militia in Ainaro district (see Cancio de Carvalho).[1]

His superior officer was LtCol Tatang Zaenuddin. While serving as deputy commander in Sector B, this officer (serial no. 29651) was also with the Kopassus combat unit Satgas Darat Rajawali (set up by Prabowo Subianto).[2]

After East Timor, Rahasia became chief of the Kopassus Tribuana Task Force in Irian Jaya in 2001.[3] Western intelligence sources blamed this and other Kopassus units for destabilising operations in several parts of Indonesia (Irian Jaya, Aceh, the Moluccas as well as East Timor) in 2000.[4]
